UK NHS market size and opportunities for servers, networks, hardware, devices and operating systems
This latest report from EHI Intelligence examines the installed IT infrastructure within UK NHS trusts and boards. Our research obtained a 96% response and was validated with primary and secondary research, including interviews with CIOs.
The report reveals that 85% of PCs in the NHS are running on Windows XP, an operating system that expires next April. It finds that much of the health service is highly dependent on those PCs, with little adoption of alternative devices such as tablets or mobiles. Smartphones are little used, servers are predominately on-site and wifi remains patchy.
These are significant problems for NHS trusts and boards across the UK, but they will also produce significant opportunities for the companies that can help rebuild this infrastructure. The report will discuss how leading trusts and boards are starting to undertake this, and how suppliers can benefit from this overdue upgrade work.
